Tour Description:

Join us this holiday season for a special tour of the beautiful church and parish grounds of Most Holy Trinity - St. Mary in East Williamsburg with Father Timothy and Urban Oyster Tour Guide, Cindy VandenBosch.   On this tour, we'll explore the history of this cathedral-like church that was influenced by the 13th c. French Gothic style, venturing up into the towers and down into the crypt, and even taking a peek into the rathskeller basement of the rectory where clergy once entertained guests.

In the spirit of the Christmas season, we'll also reflect on the German and Irish heritage of this congregation, highlighting its early beginnings in the mid-1800s with stories of the origins of Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and Holly wreaths, and learn about more recent immigrants who have brought new holiday traditions to the church, from Noche Buena to the Three Kings Day Parade.   Desserts with coffee and tea will be provided. Please note: stairclimbing will be involved for certain parts of this tour.
